Drug Info - Tranquilisers

Other names
benzos, benzodiazepines, tranqs

Brand names
Diazepam (valium), Lorazepam (Activan), Mogadon (Nitrazepam, Moggies), Rohypnol, Temazpam (Jellies)

Tranquillisers are man made drugs produced to treat anxiety, depression and insomnia (not sleeping), they depress the central nervous system and slow the body down.

Big doses can make the user feel sleepy and forgetful.

Tolerance levels can build quickly when using tranqs therefore the user needs to take more to get the desired effect. This causes a higher risk of overdose.

Some people try to inject tranqs, especially Temazepam, but this is extremely fatal. Chalk tablets can cause collapsed veins and gel capsules can solidify in the blood vessel causing death or leading to limb amputation.

Tranquilisers are highly addictive, psychologically and physically. If a user is trying to come off of tranqs they should be weaned off with professional advice and support, they should not try home detox.
