Drug Info - Ketamine

Other names
special K, vitamin K

Ketamine is a powerful general anaesthetic used in operations where a person, or animal, can stay awake but pain free throughout the procedure.

Ketamine has hallucinatory effects and users can trip for up to 3 hours at a time. It can give the user an out of body experience. In some cases users may not be able to move their body at all until the drug wears off.

Some people see things and feel weird – and they don’t like it.

Because ketamine is an anaesthetic users can often injure themselves badly whilst under the influence without realizing what they have done.

Large doses can cause breathing difficulties and heart failure.
